Older southern-MN kitchens often retain original 1960s-1970s appliances. Counter GFCI requirements were not in code until the 1990s, so most pre-1995 homes need GFCI added.
Common questions
Do you test the appliances?
Yes — range, oven, dishwasher, disposal, microwave, vent hood are all tested. Refrigerator is visual only because moving it can damage flooring or break water supply.
What about gas leaks?
